– Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways
This course is designed for individuals who need skills to prepare for a vocational pathway qualification or further foundation studies development that will support and prepare them to be able to undertake further vocational study.
It is suitable for those individuals who require a:
Prevocational pathway to employment and vocational training
Reading, writing, numeracy, oral communication and learning skills at Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) level 3
Entry level digital technology and employability skills
Education, training, and employment goals
In consultation with our students, we will provide a training and support plan that demonstrates how the course is delivered and how the outcomes will be achieved.
If you are eligible for Certificate 3 Guarantee funding, You may be eligible to get this course subsidised by the Queensland Government through the Certificate 3 Guarantee Initiative.

How to Apply for Certificate 3 Guarantee Funding:
- Decide which training program you would like to undertake and contact us on 07 3412 8222 to discuss if this course is right for you
- Provide us with your date of birth and full name
- Please note that co-contribution fees must be paid at the time of enrolment for each unit of competency
- These fees can be paid by the student, or a referring agency such as a Workforce Australia provider, other employment service provider or an employer

Eligibility
Eligibility requirements for Certificate 3 Guarantee funding
Subsidised Training: Funding may be available for eligible participants under the Queensland Government’s Certificate 3 Guarantee Program.
To be eligible, you must be:
- Must be 15 years of age or older
- Must have completed or departed from secondary school (with the exception of VET in Schools students)
- Be a Queensland resident
- Be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrant) or temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permit on the pathway to permanent residency or a New Zealand citizen
- Prospective students must not have been or be enrolled in a certificate III level or higher qualification (not including qualifications completed at school and foundation skills training).
Eligibility requirements for Higher Level Skills funding:
Funding may be available for eligible participants under the Queensland Government’s Higher Level Skills Program.
To be eligible, you must be:
- Must be 15 years of age or older

Transition Statement
As part of our commitment to delivering quality and current training, some of our training products will undergo an update from time to time. These updates may be initiated by SSI Education and Training or as a result of a change in the nationally accredited training package.
When updates occur, the qualification/course will enter a transition period. Students who are unable to complete the course prior to the conclusion of the transition period will have the opportunity to be enrolled into the new qualification.
All efforts will be made to limit students being disadvantaged by any updates.
